Split-Flap Display

We were tired of these LCD screens and high-tech devices in display windows shops, so we decided to create something more mechanical, closer to the traditional Swiss watch tradition. That’s when the idea to build our own split-flap display came, just like these old ‘Fallblattanzeige’ we used to watch to check the train schedule in Swiss railway stations. Each 3 window can show a different illustration, text or photo or alternatively all 3 windows can complete a full frame graphic, as shown in pictures above. We’ve sourced a very special bespoke material for the flaps : it is very light, it can be printed in inkjet and is highly shock-, tear- and UV-resistant.
